Our Values
·
We, at Powerhouse, see each person saved or
unsaved as a valuable and unique person whom God loves and wants
as His own. We recognize our own need for mercy
and desire to extend that to others.
- We desire to express the compassion
that Jesus had for the
poor, the sick, the oppressed, the widow, the orphans, the
neglected and those who are held captive to the evil of this
world.
- We desire to bring hope and purpose to
each person's life by presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe all people have a need for salvation.
- We feel it is important for each
person to grow in Christian maturity. We, therefore, will
provide opportunities to disciple through the teaching of
the Word, worship and fellowship with other believers.
- We desire for the Kingdom of God
(God's will) to rule over the kingdom of darkness in every
life that is affected by the pain and evils of this world.
Therefore we provide Biblical counseling and prayer for
healing physical, emotional and spiritual hurts and
difficulties.
- Because we believe that God's message
of salvation contained in the gospel is the only hope we
have to offer to those we are trying to serve, we require
volunteers to have an ongoing, personal relationship with
the only one who can heal and help those in need - Jesus
Christ.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
I.
We believe that there is one living and true God
eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and
the Holy Spirit equal in power and glory and that He created,
upholds and governs all.
II.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ
conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe
in His miracles, His sinless life, His teachings, His
substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension
into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and His
visible, physical return to earth to judge the living and the
dead.
III.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy
Spirit: baptizing, indwelling and empowering the believer for
the exercise of Biblical gifts and the living of a sanctified
life of love and service.
IV.
We believe in the Bible, consisting of the
Scriptures of both the Old and New Testament, as fully inspired,
without error in the original manuscripts, and as the infallible
rule for faith and practice.
V.
We believe to be saved from eternal condemnation,
a person must be born again by grace alone through faith in
Jesus Christ: repent of his sins, receive forgiveness and
confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
VI.
We believe in the one universal church as the
living spiritual body of which Jesus Christ is the head and all
regenerated persons are the members.
