Volunteer Opportunities

With only a handful of full-time staff, Powerhouse relies heavily on volunteers to make its ministry happen. Thank you for your interest in helping. Below is a list of some ways volunteers can help on a regular basis or with specific special events.

Regular Needs

Ministry Center Set Up & Tear Down

Cleaning and setting up furniture for weekly programs

Powerhouse Transition Center

Meals, tutoring, teaching classes, field trips, sports activities

One time or ongoing

Children’s Program – Ages 6-12

Teachers, helpers, crafts, music leaders, transportation, outing assistance, meals

Sunday 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Youth Program

Helpers, musicians, crafts, game facilitator, meals

Thursday 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Drivers

Transport kids to Sunday program (Class B license needed) Transport clients to appointments

Sundays 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Or as needed

Maintenance

Building and grounds maintenance

As needed

Donation Pick-up

Must have small van or truck

As needed

Men’s & Women’s Ministry

Worship Leaders; Meals

Women – Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm

Men – Tuesday 6:30pm-8:30pm

Babysitting

During counseling or support groups

As needed

Office Support

Answer phones & greet people

Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm)

Special Event Coordinators

Angel Tree, Summer Carnival, Family Camping, Seasonal Events

Flexible

Program Facilitators

Drug and alcohol program; Anger management

Varies (12 week commitment)
